Terms of service

These terms govern your use of matsycliptickr.homes, which is published by Lantern Quay Publishing Ltd ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the site is

matsycliptickr.homes is an independent editorial website that explains and discusses published research in neuroscience. It is provided free of charge for general information. It is not a medical service, does not offer diagnosis or treatment advice, and nothing on it should be relied upon in place of advice from a qualified healthcare professional. If you have a concern about your health, consult a GP or specialist.

2. Your obligations

You may use the site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting; not to introduce malicious code; not to use automated tools to scrape or copy the site at a scale that affects its availability; not to misrepresent yourself when contacting us; and not to use our contact channels to send unsolicited commercial material. We may restrict access to anyone who breaches these terms.

3. Intellectual property

The text, layout, graphics and code of the site are owned by or licensed to Lantern Quay Publishing Ltd and are protected by copyright and other laws of the United Kingdom and elsewhere. You may read the site, print pages for personal use, and quote short passages with attribution and a link, consistent with fair dealing under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. You may not reproduce substantial parts of the site, republish it on another service, or use it to train a commercial product without our written permission. Names of universities, journals, companies and products mentioned on the site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

4. Accuracy and changes

We take care to describe published research accurately and to attribute it to the right authors, institutions and journals. Science moves, and a finding described here may later be revised, replicated or contradicted. We do not warrant that content is complete, current or free of error, and we may change or remove content at any time. Where you find a mistake, we would like to hear about it through the contact page.

5. Links to other sites

The site may link to journals, institutions, regulators and other third parties. Those sites are outside our control, and a link is not an endorsement of their content or their handling of your data. Read their terms and privacy notices before relying on them.

6. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales. Subject to that, the site is provided "as is"; we exclude all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law; and we are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from your use of or reliance on the site, including loss of data or interruption of access. Because the site is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to £100.

7. Termination

We may suspend or withdraw the site, or block access from a particular address or user, at any time and without notice, including where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached. Provisions concerning intellectual property, liability and governing law survive termination.

8. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing here removes protections you are entitled to under the law of the country where you live. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can try to resolve the matter informally.

9. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the privacy policy and cookie policy, are the whole agreement between you and us concerning the site. We may update them from time to time; the version published at this address is the one in force.
